NEED is the mother of invention and now the mother earth needs GREEN Nations. From pin to plane its we Engineers who engineer every product. Somewhere in the supply chain of these products we deplete the resources or pollute the environment. Days have come now where the Engineers are in a situation to consider another constraint in their design books. The constraint is to merry mother earth to the maximum and worry her the minimum. This pushed GREEN ENGINEERING, a nascent terminology into an Engineer’s dictionary. It says us to works on technologies that add value to the environment and always assist and support the nature. It is not a separate field but must be embedded in every major field.
A Civil engineer must answer the question “Are my buildings GREEN?”
A Mechanical Engineer must answer the question “Are my bikes GREEN?”
An Electrical Engineer must answer the Question “Are my Power plants GREEN? “
An Electronics Engineer must answer the question “Are my chips GREEN?”
A Computer Engineer must answer the question “Are my codes GREEN?”
Possibly they must answer YES and that is the MOTIVE of 9th SYNAPSE jointly organized by the Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and Indian Society of Technical Education.
